What's involved with this role:

Job Title: Housing Service Officer

Ref: ATR 5274806

Pay rate: £16.41 per hour PAYE

Role length: Anticipated 1 - 2 months

Working arrangements: Part time role and site based



The role:

We're looking for housing professionals who have experience in tenancy management, particularly for the over 55's, to provide a front-line housing management service to residents in sheltered accommodation.



Key responsibilities:

Viewings and tenancy sign ups
Tenancy management
Maintaining tenant records on the housing management system
Offering signposting and referral support to external agencies
Basic benefit and income maximisation advice
Weekly health and safety checks - fire detection, emergency lighting etc as required at each scheme
Weekly site health and safety inspection
Safeguarding referrals and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses on site
Tenant welfare checks
Tenant meetings
Liaising with external agencies to support tenancy sustainment
Reporting of communal repairs and dwelling repairs if the tenant needs assistance with this
Liaison with colleagues to ensure the site is maintained to a safe and acceptable standard, e.g. reporting back on outstanding repairs, quality of cleaning and grounds maintenance



What the client is looking for:

Previous experience in a similar role
Experience in tenancy management, preferably with over 55s or sheltered housing
Resilient and empathetic approach when dealing with tenant issues
Ability to manage own workload and strong time management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of health and safety standards and inspections
Basic knowledge of benefit and income advice
Knowledge of housing management systems
Confident with viewings, sign-ups, and tenancy sustainment
Experience with welfare checks and tenant meetings
Able to liaise with external agencies and internal teams to support residents
Proactive in reporting repairs and monitoring site standards
