Are you passionate about preventing homelessness and supporting vulnerable households to find safe, sustainable housing? The Royal Borough of Kingston is seeking a proactive, empathetic Housing Solutions Officer to cover a key vacancy and help deliver life-changing outcomes for local residents.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Work directly with households who are homeless or at risk, offering tailored advice and practical support

Help clients retain existing housing or secure alternative accommodation

Develop and agree action plans with households to prevent or relieve homelessness

Engage with a wide range of clients including tenants, homeowners, and those facing relationship breakdowns or eviction

Collaborate with internal teams and external partners including landlords, housing providers, social services, and voluntary agencies

Ensure performance targets are met and customer satisfaction remains high

Contribute to service development and support the Housing Solutions Team Manager

Landlords and letting agents

Registered Providers and housing associations

Social Services, Finance, and Housing Management

Statutory bodies (e.g. Police, Probation Service)

Voluntary organisations (e.g. Mind, Women’s Aid)

What We’re Looking For:
Experience in housing advice, homelessness prevention, or related support services

Strong communication and negotiation skills

Ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with vulnerable individuals

Knowledge of housing legislation and local authority duties

A solution-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
