The Role

Are you passionate about delicious food and creating memorable dining experiences? Join our team at SUSU Venues, vibrant and popular food outlets that specialises in mouth-watering pizza creations (Stags kitchen), Café food vibes (The Bridge) and loaded fries! (Redbrick kitchen). We are a part of the Venues department at SUSU (Southampton University Students' Union) and contribute to our Social Enterprise initiative.

As a Catering Assistant for our Venues department, your responsibilities will go beyond creating our dishes; you will also oversee equipment setup, clear up and cleaning to ensure the smooth operation of our food and drink outlets. Your passion for food and dedication to delivering excellent customer experiences will make you an essential figure in our team.

You will need a Level 2 (or 3) food hygiene qualification (or a strong willingness to obtain level 2, facilitated by SUSU), a profound passion for food and a drive to provide exceptional customer experiences.

Join us at SUSU and become a part of our thrilling Social Enterprise venture. If you are eager to showcase your culinary talents and thrive in a fast-paced environment, apply now.

Please note that this role is term-time only (31 weeks per year, 35 hours per week).

About You

Your excellent customer service background will be an asset, ensuring that you deliver delightful experiences to our student customers. Being attentive to their needs and receptive to constructive feedback will help us continually improve our offerings and meet their expectations.

As a part of our collaborative team, you will report to the Venues Manager and interact with various other SUSU functions. Effective communication skills will enable you to engage comfortably with a diverse range of individuals, adjusting your approach to suit different contexts.

If you have a passion for food, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and possess a positive attitude, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Catering Assistant at SUSU!
