Crynodeb

The Doctor will work closely with the Late Effects Research Lead, members of the BRC Cancer Treatment Effects theme research team, members of the Clinical Epidemiology Unit at The Institute of Cancer Research and with multidisciplinary research colleagues across different Units at RM/ICR. Work will focus on advancing the development and delivery of world-leading epidemiological research studies and clinical interventional studies aimed at improving the long-term outcomes of cancer patients and their experience as cancer survivors. These research studies will inform the development of personalised and risk-stratified late effects services for cancer survivors.

The BRC Cancer Treatment Effects theme is a new and rapidly expanding theme at The Royal Marsden which is well placed to deliver a full programme of studies focussed on better understanding, risk-stratifying, managing and preventing a range of both acute toxicities and Late Effects of cancer treatments. It is expected that outcomes from these studies will inform the setup of translational clinical late effect services. Both the Consultant and Fellow will leverage the excellent research infrastructure, world-leading expertise, and frameworks already in place across both The Royal Marsden and Institute of Cancer Research. With the ICR, we are the only NIHR Biomedical Research Centre focused on cancer.

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre.
