TeacherActive is seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant for an immediate or September start in a Bristol primary school. This is a fantastic opportunity to step straight into a meaningful role, helping a child achieve both academically and emotionally within a mainstream setting.

About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll:

• Deliver personalised learning activities aligned with EHCP targets

  
  

• Provide calm, consistent support to help with both academic and social-emotional development

  
  

• Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to promote emotional regulation

  
  

• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor progress and adjust provision

  
  

• Create a safe, encouraging environment where the child feels valued and confident every day

  
  

  What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Learning Support (or equivalent)

    
    

  • Proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, ideally on a 1:1 basis in a primary setting

    
    

  • A patient, compassionate approach with strong emotional awareness

    
    

  • Confidence in adapting learning strategies to meet individual needs

    
    

  • Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

    
    

  • Two references from recent educational settings
