Job Description
This post is fixed term until 28/06/2026.
As this is a part-time post the salary will be pro-rata to the hours worked.
Reporting directly to the Principal ELC Officer, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive clerical and administrative service supporting the operations of an Early Learning & Childcare Centre.
You will ensure the smooth running of the nursery office and provide a welcoming, professional reception service, responding to all enquiries by telephone or in person.
Your duties will also include managing and maintaining nursery data, ensuring all records are accurate, up to date, and stored on the appropriate computerised systems.
General office responsibilities include photocopying, filing, document preparation, mail distribution, assisting with the arrangement of transport and outings, and routine cash handling tasks such as receiving and recording payments for school activities and uniforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, along with strong organisational and communication skills.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
