Interim Repairs Contracts Manager £27 per hour | Midlands-based | Full-time | Immediate Start | 3-6-Month Contract
Are you an experienced contracts or repairs manager with a strong background in housing maintenance? We're recruiting for an interim Repairs Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of responsive and planned maintenance services across a large housing portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing multi-million-pound contracts, managing internal teams and external contractors, and ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance, and value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage housing repairs contracts, including backlog and planned works
- Supervise repairs teams, including planners, trade operatives, and contractors
- Monitor contractor performance against KPIs and ensure contractual compliance
- Manage budgets and financial forecasting for repairs and maintenance
- Drive continuous improvement and customer satisfaction
- Prepare performance reports and respond to escalated complaints and enquiries
- Promote health and safety compliance and risk management
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, and quantity surveying teams
✅ Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience managing high-value housing repairs contracts
- Strong knowledge of responsive and planned maintenance operations
- Familiarity with JCT contracts and Schedule of Rates (SORs)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Technical and supervisory experience in building maintenance
- Understanding of local government governance and working with elected members
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
