The Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Provider Collaborative brings together Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT),Other NHS Foundation Trust and representatives from the Third Sector and Local Authorities in order to collaborate on the future design and delivery of mental health provision across Birmingham and Solihull.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Contract Manager to join our Contracts Team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing a diverse and complex portfolio of income and expenditure contracts and service level agreements.
You will work closely with the MHPC Contracts Lead to ensure the contracting function is well-planned, efficient, and strategically aligned. You will also act as a senior ambassador for MHPC in external forums, building strong relationships with commissioners and stakeholders at all levels.
The successful candidate will demonstrate
• Extensive experience in contract management, with knowledge of NHS Standard Contract.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex information and competing priorities.
• Confidence in representing the organisation at senior levels.
• Have a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
• Lead and manage a portfolio of contracts valued at over £120 million.
• Work collaboratively with MHPC commissioning and quality team at all levels to manage contract and quality performance with all service providers.
• Negotiate new and existing patient-related healthcare income contracts.
• Monitor compliance and proactively resolve emerging contractual issues.
• Ensure contracts are signed and agreed within national and Board-set timelines.
• Prioritise and manage your own workload, while supporting a Band 5 Contract Officer.
• Represent MHPC at Contract Review meetings with provider Trusts and third-party providers, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication.
