We have 2 vacancies for an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to join us at The Cake Crew. One is on our day shift. Hours of work are 6am - 6pm on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern and one on our night shift. Hours of work are 6pm - 6am Monday - Thursday. The main responsibilites of the role are:
Product quality during manufacture including: ensuring recipes are being followed correctly, weights are deposited accurately, bake profiles followed, injection, topping placement and decorations are applied correctly
Product is packaged into correct packaging in the format predetermined by the customer.
Quality checks may include (list is not exhaustive): pantone colour, weights, injection quality, topping placement, decoration placement and/or coverage, smearing, creases/damaged packaging, clear legible labels and date coding, correct pallet configuration
All the above must be done in conjunction with the agreed product standards as signed off by the customer.
Auditing the production line standards, PIG guides and other quality paperwork to make sure only the correct versions are available for use and that these are in use during production
Ensuring traceability is maintained throughout the process by:
- checking batch numbers, BBE dates etc recorded on paperwork
- auditing paperwork and tracing information back to raw material and compare recipes/raw materials used against the PIG guide for that product
- following paperwork through on a product e.g. recipe through to topping
- checking packing paperwork for accuracy
working in conjunction with the production supervisors and shift managers to ensure that quality, food safety and traceability is maintained at all times. This may include basic training to the line operatives and/or supervisors.
To comply with and assist with implementation of company food safety, quality, and legality policies as they relate to the role
You will
Have previous experience working withing a food manufacturer, ideally within a technical role
Have experience working with retailers such as: Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Iceland.
Have a basic knowledge in traceability and importance is maintaining accurate records
Have great attention to detail, keen eye
Have the ability to work using own initiative, be a team player
Have excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft packages
