What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a special person to join our friendly and hardworking administrative team. Reporting directly to the School Business Manager and the Head teacher, this is a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our school and includes staffing the school reception desk, and carrying out a range of administrative duties.
You will be a confident and efficient person with good administrative skills, and you’ll be able to manage common office systems such as email, word processing, and receipt of orders and deliveries. You will often be the first person that parents or visitors speak to at the school, so you will need to have excellent communication skills, and ideally you will bring successful experience of working with the public in a busy environment – perhaps a school, or another public-facing role.
We’re very proud of the strong supportive and welcoming culture in our school, and we’re looking for someone who gets on with people, is cheerful and positive, and who thrives in a busy environment. The right person for this job will be someone who wants to work in a school environment, supporting the work of the teaching staff and administrative team, is flexible and a good learner and who has high professional standards for themselves – along with great customer service skills.
What the school offers its staff
In return we can offer the successful candidate a strong and supportive professional team and excellent training and development opportunities.
We have a large and very welcoming staff team, friendly children who come to us from a wide range of backgrounds, and we work closely with the adjoining Slade Nursery School – part of our federation of schools.
Commitment to safeguarding
Ensuring that children are safe and well cared for is our highest priority. We work with parents and other agencies, including our Local Authority, to make sure that children are kept safe, both in school and beyond. Staff members with designated lead responsibility undertake regular specialist training in safeguarding and child protection. All members of staff and regular volunteers receive training in child protection, and we undertake comprehensive background checks on all adults working in the school, including an enhanced DBS check and full employment references.
