What you'll be doing

Are you looking to play a vital role in supporting resilience and strategic priorities at the heart of UK democracy? We're looking for a Strategic Resilience Assistant to join the Corporate Resilience Team at UK Parliament. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the effective functioning of Parliament by supporting business planning, governance, and communications, as well as helping teams respond to operational challenges.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll support with organising meetings, drafting communications, managing project support tasks, and updating internal guidance and resources. You'll work across bicameral teams, meaning you'll collaborate with stakeholders from the House of Commons, House of Lords and the Parliamentary Digital Service, giving you a broad view of how Parliament operates at all levels.

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 60% of your time in the office.

What we're looking for.

If you're passionate about working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and have the below skillset, we'd be keen to hear from you:

  • You'll currently hold a qualification and/or professional membership in a business continuity, emergency planning or incident management discipline e.g. certified membership of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI).
  • You have confident approach to working with numbers and spreadsheets, with a willingness to develop further analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining complex topics to non-specialist audiences.
  • You're someone who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • You enjoy working with others and demonstrate inclusive, respectful behaviour at all times.
