About The Compleat Food Group

At The Compleat Food Group (TCFG), we’re on a mission to create great-tasting food that people love – and to do so in a way
that’s better for people and the planet. As part of our digital transformation, we’re building a modern, scalable data and cloud
ecosystem to support our growth and innovation.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Azure Platform Lead to design, implement, and operate the cloud data platform foundation at TCFG.
This is a hands-on technical role with end-to-end accountability for the Azure Landing Zone, security, networking, governance, and
platform services that underpin our data platform and enterprise workloads.

You will work closely with the Head of Data Engineering, domain data teams, and IT Security to deliver a secure, scalable, and
cost-optimised cloud environment. While the role is predominantly remote, it will involve travel to our sites across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and deploy enterprise-scale Azure Landing Zones, including hub-spoke networking, RBAC, policies, compliance, and
subscription strategy.
* Provision and manage core Azure services (ADLS Gen2, Key Vault, ADF, Synapse/Databricks, Functions, AKS, Logic Apps, SQL
Server, etc.).
* Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Bicep).
* Set up monitoring, logging, diagnostics, cost controls, and automation.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR, enterprise security policies, and secure-by-design principles.
* Partner with cross-functional teams to enable secure workloads and provide reusable templates and guidance.
* Mentor engineers on cloud networking, security, and automation best practices.
* Drive continuous improvement of cost, performance, and reliability while staying up to date with new Azure services.

Essential Experience & Skills

* 6+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Networking, Security).
* Proven expertise in designing and deploying enterprise-scale Azure Landing Zones.
* Strong knowledge of VNets, VPN, ExpressRoute, Firewalls, Bastion, NSGs, and Private DNS/Endpoints.
* Proficiency in Terraform and/or Bicep, with strong GitOps practices.
* Experience with Azure Storage (ADLS Gen2), ADF, Synapse/Databricks, Key Vault, Functions, and AKS.
* Strong understanding of Azure AD, RBAC, Managed Identities, and PIM.
* Skilled in monitoring, cost management, scripting (PowerShell/Python), and CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
* Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

* Azure certifications (AZ-305 Architect, AZ-400 DevOps, AZ-104 Admin).
* Experience in data platform projects (e.g. medallion architecture, data mesh).
* Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
* Previous experience in food manufacturing or consumer goods.
