Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Plymouth to assist with the appointment of a Business Support Officer, on a 11-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £12.85 - £15.53 per hour
Hours Per Week :15.00
Summary:
The Business Support Officer will provide administrative and organisational support to the Plymouth Youth Music Service, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The role involves supporting music leaders, young people, families, and schools by managing communications, logistics, and systems. The postholder will act as a central point of coordination, supporting project planning, evaluation, and development, while fostering strong relationships with partners. This role is essential in ensuring that all activities are delivered safely, effectively, and inclusively.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and reception support for the Youth Music Service.
Monitor and process instrument hire requests from individuals, schools, and ensembles.
Support scheduling and logistics of instrument allocation to schools and ensembles.
Collaborate with the Instrument Coordinator to maintain accurate records, stock control, and processes for distribution and maintenance.
Process invoices, manage records, and provide meeting support (including minute taking).
Qualifications:
GCSEs A*C (94) or equivalent in English and Maths.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Understanding of office procedures and administrative systems.
Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
Proven administrative experience with strong organisational skills.
Experience providing customer service and signposting information across multiple channels (face-to-face, phone, online).
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Record-keeping skills, including maintaining accurate financial and customer records.
