Main Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and articulate individual that has an invested interest in developing and co-ordinating the support available for families.

In this post you will be responsible for the programme planning and delivery of Antenatal Peep, Peep Learning Together, Peep Progression Pathway and Infant Massage across Perth and Kinross.

You will have responsibility for co-ordinating, supporting and developing the provision delivered by the Early Years Family Learning Practitioners. The Early Years Family Learning Practitioners are based in ELC settings across Perth and Kinross and offer a range of support to families with children of nursery age and their transition into primary 1.

You will develop positive networks with services and other organisations to promote the programmes and facilitate effective referral processes. You will participate in direct delivery of family learning programmes as required. You will support to deliver CPD/peer support for staff.

In this post you will be responsible for collating, analysing and reporting on the impact of the programmes and support given to families.

Responsibility in this post includes allocation of group leaders, identify and plan delivery according to family's needs, identification of delivery sites.

This post is fixed term to March 2027 working 36 hours per week, full year, with a flexible approach to ensure the needs of the service are met.

Skills & Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have experience and skills in engaging with parents, young people or children and in group work.

Ideally you will have knowledge of working with children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs and have an understanding of child development.

You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families.

You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to share this with families.

The ideal candidate will be confident in a range of IT systems to complete several tasks including; creating and producing presentations, publicity for a range of audiences, preparing and presenting impact updates and reports that includes qualitative and qualitative data.

You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate all work relevant to this position. You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of the benefits of evidence-based family learning including a range of the programmes offered by the service.

You must have experience and skills in engaging with parents/carers, young people or children and delivering group work.

You must have good communication and listening skills and be able to develop appropriate relationships with families.

You must have line management experience.

You must have a degree or equivalent qualification and experience of working in a relevant discipline such as Childhood Practice, Social Care, Community Education, Social Work or Education.

You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth & Kinross.
