What skills and experience we're looking for
We have a vacancy for a professional, effective and enthusiastic administrator to join our happy and hardworking team in our large Church of England junior school. We are looking for someone who can multi-task, has excellent inter-personal skills and shows initiative.
Ideally candidates will have school office experience and so be proficient in the use of a School Information Management System (SIMS) such as Arbor. However, our office team use a range of clearly defined processes, used across Hampshire schools, and we are more than happy to provide induction training to help the right candidate transfer their existing skills to our school environment.
The successful applicant will:
• Be a strong team player
• Have fantastic communication skills and a caring approach to children and adults
• Have confidence in dealing with a diverse range of people both on the phone, face to face and in writing
• Have excellent problem solving skills, alongside the ability to be flexible and adaptable in a constantly changing environment
• Have excellent IT skills – competence in the use of Microsoft tools such as Office and Teams
• Be confident and pro-active in using effective systems in a busy school office
• Be able to remain calm and unflappable
Our Staff Structure includes 4 admin team members: a Business Manager, two Senior Admin Assistants and an Admin Assistant. This vacancy is for our Senior Admin Assistant responsible for Information – Admissions, attendance, school records and school communication. The communication element of the role is an important and interesting one as the post-holder co-ordinates school communication with our parents and carers as well as the wider community using emails, our website, social media and our digital sign.
What the school offers its staff
Our vacancy is for 37 hours per week, 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday in term time with a 4pm finish on one day. Our contract is for 40 weeks per year, this is 39 weeks of school term time plus one week during holiday periods. Salary will be based on experience and will start within the C Grade range of £25,186 to £26,244 FTE which equates to an actual salary of £22,095 to £23,024.
Working parents may be interested to know that we offer our staff free use of our on-site Wraparound Care for children who attend our school or Horndean Infant School.
