An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and driven therapy assistant to join our Medical Specialties & Oncology Therapy team. The team provides therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions.
You will be working under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, assisting patients with rehabilitation and supporting their safe discharge from the hospital.
Key responsibilities of the post include, gathering information on patient’s history, ordering equipment, follow up with exercise plans already established by therapist and working as an essential team member in the Multi-Disciplinary Team. You will also be required to participate in a 7-day service on a rota basis.
This post offers a rewarding opportunity for someone with healthcare experience looking to gain experience working within a therapy team. You will have support to develop your skills and knowledge in assessment and treatment of patients across the medical specialties, and will have access to in-service training, regular supervision and support.
To provide skilled routine, and non-routine, clinical and technical support to the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team and clerical staff associated with the team.
The state registered therapist will always remain responsible for:
· Primary assessment of patient
· Referral for treatment
· Clinical discharge of patient
· Setting the primary clinical treatment plan and monitoring the progression of the patient
· Overseeing the clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of the treatment practised on the patient

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year.
