Summary
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant (Fixed Term 6 months) . We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative individual to join our therapy department at King George Hospital.
Working in a fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to offer admin and clinical support to our therapists in the frailty team . As a Band 3 Therapy Assistant you will have the opportunity to build a strong set of skills such as carrying out therapy programmes as directed by the therapist, ordering equipment and assisting in home assessments.
You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, some experience in direct patient care and an awareness of the role of therapy within the trust.
We have a strong commitment to continuing development with an established in service training programme.
You will be well supported by experienced therapists.
In line with the Government agenda for the NHS, we have recently re-configured our Integrated Therapy service structure to provide a 7 day service. You will be required to work weekends dependent.

To provide skilled routine, and some non-routine, clinical and non-clinical support to the rehabilitation team, this includes Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists
The state registered therapist will at all times remain responsible for:
• Primary assessment of patient
• Referral for treatment
• Clinical discharge of patient
• Setting the primary clinical treatment plan and monitoring the progression of the patient
• Overseeing the clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of the treatment practised on the patient

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
