Crynodeb
The Severn Arts Music Box is a small bus that goes out into the community to inspire young people and their families to take part in musical activities. Equipped with vocal booth, mixing desk, digital equipment, traditional instruments, recording software and DJ decks, the Music Box provides a new and different opportunity for young people to develop their music technology and digital skills.
The Music Box is primarily booked by schools, groups and organisations for either open public access or for tailored private sessions with smaller groups. Sessions typically last 3 hours, though festival and event bookings can be up to a whole day. Minimum call would be 4 hours unless specifically agreed otherwise.
About the role
The post holder will drive the bus from its base in Worcester at Malvern Gate, to events throughout Worcestershire. They will be responsible for getting the bus there on time, with the required resources and support the practitioner in setting up the equipment, encouraging participants on board, marketing Severn Arts and gaining feedback about the experience on offer. No prior musical knowledge or experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Driving the bus to and from events
- Provide general support to assist the practitioner running the sessions and collecting feedback/marketing
- Helping to manage customer flow and numbers entering the bus where required
- To deal with any technical or running issues effectively on the day so far as possible Feedback to manager after events and delivery
Requirements
Essential
- UK valid driving license with C1 entitlement (drivers who passed a UK test after 1 January 1997 will need to have passed further tests for this entitlement)
- Confident and professional manner
- Comfortable approaching and engaging with the general public and talking confidently about Severn Arts
- Willing to undergo a DBS check
Desirable
- Experience of driving larger vehicles over 3.5 tonnes
- An interest in music, education or events
