We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Digital Capability Manager to stabilise and strengthen the structure of our 3rd Party Recruitment & Resource Governance Team, part of Digital Capability and Spaces. This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a real difference across DWP Digital and beyond.
You’ll lead a team of Senior Executive Officers (SEOs) and their direct reports, fostering a culture of development and excellence. Your work will span shaping and implementing strategic resourcing service offers, ensuring they align with Digital’s ambitions and commercial frameworks. You’ll drive continuous improvement and operational contract management of a critical resourcing contract, working closely with Commercial colleagues and suppliers to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
Collaboration is key—you’ll engage with stakeholders across Digital, the wider Department, other government bodies, and external suppliers to ensure our solutions are fit for purpose and future-ready. You’ll also lead governance activities for external resource use, providing challenge and assurance to align with Departmental frameworks.
This role is being filled to stabilise the structure of the current team and sits within the 3rd Party Recruitment & Resource Governance Team within Digital Capability and Spaces Team. As such, you will be working with numerous Stakeholders and partners across Digital, the Department and other government departments, as well as Suppliers.
This role is a key leadership role across Digital, it is a diverse and stretching role as you lead a team to deliver an exemplary service to Digital and the wider department, including:
- Lead on shaping, developing and presenting proposals for resourcing service offers that maximise the opportunities within the department’s commercial frameworks to meet Digital’s Resourcing Strategy. Then once agreed lead on the implementation of these, ensuring a programme of continuous improvement, to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
- Actively engaging with key stakeholders, partners at all levels and suppliers to ensure Digital’s requirements are considered when developing solutions and ensure fit within our strategic ambitions.
- Leading on the Operational Contract Management of a critical resourcing contract on behalf of the Department, working alongside Commercial professionals and users of the contract to ensure the Suppliers are meeting expectations and work collaboratively to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
- Leading on the Digital External Resource governance activities, ensuring all key stakeholders are actively engaged, providing challenge and advice to ensure alignment to the wider departmental governance framework.
- Line management of several Senior Executive Officers (SEO) and their teams, ensuring they are committed to their development and continually building capability within the team.
- Active member of the Capability and Spaces Extended Senior Leadership Team, role modelling DWP Values, reporting on relevant Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), escalating issues where necessary.
There is an expectation that you will be expected to travel between the Digital hubs when required.
