Pay rate: £21.14 per hour PAYE

Role length: Anticipated 3 months

Working arrangements: Hybrid working with 3 days in the office - may be expected to attend the office more in the first few weeks

DBS requirement: A Standard DBS is required for this role

Additional requirement: A Driving Licence is required for this role



The role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the Housing Services team as a Housing Management & Coordination Lead Officer.

This is a key role where you will lead on tenancy enforcement and play a vital part in sustaining tenancies across both General Needs and Independent Living schemes.

You will take a proactive approach in legal proceedings concerning tenancy matters and provide high-level supervision and support to Housing Officers and Housing Coordinators.

By reviewing complex cases, offering guidance, and facilitating multi-agency working, you will contribute significantly to preventing evictions and improving housing outcomes for residents.



Key responsibilities:

Represent in legal proceedings related to housing management and tenancy enforcement
Conduct final reviews of tenancies at risk of eviction, recommending next steps to sustain tenancies
Supervise and support Housing Officers and Housing Coordinators in delivering housing management services
Provide advice, assistance and information to tenants and the general public by way of office interviews, home visits, telephone calls, written correspondence and e-mail, efficiently and courteously with particular emphasis on customer care
Investigate complex and high-risk anti-social behaviour and neighbour dispute cases, including the coordination of legal actions
Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to support tenancy sustainment through collaborative working and personalised support packages
Ensure accurate recording and monitoring of all tenancy management activities using housing management systems
Support the promotion of tenant participation, equality, and community cohesion across the borough
Lead and organise multi-agency case conferences, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place for successful tenancy outcomes
Monitor the use of noise recording equipment and respond appropriately to reported issues
Prepare statistical reports and recommendations to improve housing services



What the client is looking for:

Working towards full membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent qualification
Ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance to Human Rights and Data Protection legislation
Ability to effectively communicate with residents, staff and other organisations, both verbally and in writing
Be able to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks.
Ability to make concise written reports in a timely and accurate manner
Ability to demonstrate tact and sensitivity
Ability to follow laid down policies and procedures
Previous experience of supervising staff in a Housing environment
Have an understanding of the current housing issues and the local and national political and social framework within which local authority housing services operate
Previous experience dealing with the public both face to face and by telephone with a varying customer base
Confident with financial issues
Basic statistical work experience
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a customer focused environment
Experience of enforcement and ability to use enforcement tools available and previous experience of representing at Court
