Contract Status – Permanent

Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant city and excellent opportunities exist to join us and contribute towards helping all our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services.

We are looking to recruit Team Leaders across the City of Glasgow supporting Children and Families. The post holder will manage a team of Social Workers and Social Care Workers offering support and help to children and their families.

Applicants should be committed to supporting children at home with their families and be able to lead a team of staff in taking a strengths, assets and anti-poverty based approach to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children. You will also chair meetings, including reviews for children who are in Local Authority care, Child Protection Core Groups and subject to Child Protection Registration.

We are seeking energetic, talented, resilient and committed Team Leaders to secure these outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice. You will be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community.

We have a large range of services that require to work effectively together, we work in full partnership with our health colleagues and a broad range of partners and we have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care across both service areas and promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports.

Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate commitment to CPD. Attached to this advert is the Person Specification which details the qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for this post.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
