Northcott is an outstanding established provision for pupils with additional needs including Autism, SLCN, MLD and SpLD.
The Position
We are currently expanding our Nurture Team and we are excited to welcome applicants from external candidates to join this successful team. We are committed to a Thrive approach and to developing teams who understand that ‘behaviour’ is communication. A significant majority of pupils in our Nurture classes need a combined Thrive, trauma informed approach to help them to be ready to learn. Therefore, we are encouraging applications from candidates who have experience working with pupils with social and emotional mental health (SEMH) needs or have worked in alternative settings with young people who have complex needs.
We require candidates with a clear passion to work with pupils with SEN, particularly pupils with autism and or SEMH needs. The successful applicant will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build trusted relationships with pupils with the ability to be a co-regulating adult. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of community and will actively engage in all aspects of the wider school life.
Applications are invited from experienced external candidates from either mainstream or specialist settings, with a proven track record of working with pupils with additional needs to help us grow our Nurture Team. An understanding of Thrive and Trauma informed practice is desirable. Please ensure all essential criteria are met before submitting an application.
