Crynodeb
We are a multi-brand hospitality and franchise group seeking an experienced Book-keeper / Payroll Manager to take responsibility for the group’s financial records and payroll function. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage bookkeeping and payroll across several entities.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounts
• Maintain purchase ledger, sales ledger and general ledger.
• Process invoices, receipts and payments; reconcile supplier/customer accounts.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and post journals.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with management accounts.
• Support external accountants with year-end submissions.
Payroll Management
• Manage end-to-end payroll for employees, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, holiday pay and overtime.
• Submit RTI reports to HMRC in line with statutory deadlines.
• Keep payroll records accurate and up to date.
• Respond to staff payroll queries.
Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure compliance with HMRC reporting requirements.
• Maintain financial records for audit and internal control.
• Provide directors with accurate financial data when required.

Candidate Requirements
Essential:
• Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping and payroll experience in the UK.
• Knowledge of PAYE, NIC, pensions, VAT and UK accounting rules.
• Proficient with accounting and payroll software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, BrightPay).
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills; able to liaise with suppliers, staff and accountants.
Desirable:
• AAT qualification or working towards ACCA/CIMA.
• Experience in hospitality, retail, or multi-site organisations.
• Strong Excel skills (basic reporting, reconciliations).
