Deputy Manager - Residential Children's Home

Join our client's Residential Children's Home team and receive up to £1,500 in welcome bonuses - £500 in your first month, £500 after successful passing of probation, and an extra £500 after 12 months' service!

Do you believe in the transformative power of nurturing, with a therapeutic approach and a family-style atmosphere for children to live and thrive in? If so, you could be perfect for our client's Deputy Manager post. As a Deputy Manager, you will have a hands-on approach in shaping the home and team to provide outstanding care.

You will encourage strong bonds between children and staff based on jointly undertaken activities, shared daily life, domestic and non-domestic routines, and established boundaries. By role modelling their culture and ethos, you will use this approach to lead, manage and motivate your team and drive them to deliver a quality service for the children they support.

The location for this position isBrown Edge, Stoke-On-Trent. You will work 37.5 hours per week, with a working pattern of 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, however, flexibility is required to cover shifts as needed including weekends. The salary is£40,753.65per annum.

About You

With prior experience working inchildren's residential careand working within UK regulations, you will share our client's passion for creating a supportive environment and understand that it can be very difficult for trauma-surviving children, knowing that they may need extensive support to work through experiences and needs. You will have also strong leadership skills and experience in managerial administration and can navigate yourself around IT systems.

To be successful in this role these are the essential skills you will be able to showcase:

- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (or willingness to complete Level 5 within 3 years).

- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England).

- Leadership experience working directly with children in a residential setting.

- An understanding of therapeutic models of care, evidence-based and research-led approaches.

- Practical experience of planning staffing levels to meet the needs of the Service.

- UK valid Driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.

They are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults in their work. This role involves working closely with children and is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. As part of their recruitment, selection, and appointment processes they conduct a range of vetting checks including Enhanced DBS and reference checks, to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children and those they care for and support are appointed.

If successfully appointed, references will be taken for all roles where you have worked with adults and children; additionally, a full work history needs to be included in your CV with explanations for gaps.
