Description
The Environmental Health Officer Food/Health & Safety WCR 3 position is an integral role within our dedicated team aimed at promoting and safeguarding public health through effective environmental health initiatives. This position requires a proactive individual who is committed to ensuring compliance with health and safety standards in various settings, including food establishments and public venues. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and educating the community on health regulations that protect the well-being of individuals and the environment. You will work closely with other health professionals, businesses, and community members to develop and implement strategies that promote healthy environments. Your expertise will play a critical role in identifying potential health risks associated with food handling and safety practices, thereby ensuring that establishments adhere to legal guidelines. Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of food establishments and public facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Investigate complaints related to health hazards, unsafe food handling practices, and environmental concerns.
Provide guidance and education to food service personnel and the public on health regulations and best practices in food safety.
Develop and implement public health programs and initiatives aimed at improving community health standards.
Collect and analyze data related to environmental health issues to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Prepare reports and documentation related to inspections, violations, and enforcement actions taken against non-compliance.
Collaborate with other public health officials and stakeholders to promote awareness of health and safety issues.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental health, public health, or a related field.
Certification as an Environmental Health Officer or equivalent accreditation.
At least two years of experience in environmental health or a similar role, preferably in food safety.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health regulations and standards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for educating diverse audiences.
Ability to analyze complex data and prepare comprehensive reports.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £31.00
