We are currently recruiting for a Business Support Officer to provide essential support to ensure the smooth operation of the office environment and to assist the Cyber Defence and Risk (CyDR) team with business processes. The post holder will act as the focal point for facilities-related matters, manage office supplies and inventories, coordinate contractor access, and support internal processes such as finance requests and meeting administration.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Raise work service requests for repairs to utilities and escort contractors for on-site maintenance and testing (e.g. PAT testing).
Maintain and regularly update the office inventory, including stationery supplies and equipment audits.
Submit requests for the repair of office equipment such as printers, photocopiers, shredders, and ICT devices.
Act as the office focal point for safety and fire evacuation procedures, ensuring that all staff are aware of emergency protocols.
Promote energy awareness and sustainability in the workplace.
Receive, interpret, and distribute Station Building Custodian instructions to staff.
Distribute and explain local office instructions, including evacuation and health and safety guidance to new starters.
Manage site visitor bookings and escort them as required.
Coordinate use of office spaces and facilities in response to stakeholder requests.
Process customer requests to spend in line with internal approval routes.
Pay for services using MOD financial systems, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
Assist in maintaining up-to-date staff contact and availability records for business continuity planning.
Attend virtual meetings via Teams and record key points and action items.
