Healthcare Assistant – Post-Operative Care

Hourly Rate: £13.75
37.5 hours per week, rotation of day and night shifts

Join our client’s specialist clinic, where they provide high-quality post-operative care to patients recovering from surgery. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a professional healthcare environment, supporting patients in their recovery and assisting the clinical team in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Due to the location of the service, candidates need to be able to drive to the site.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant
  • Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine passion for supporting patients during recovery.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of basic clinical care procedures and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and provide support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the care and monitoring of patients following surgery, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Support the nursing team in delivering post-operative wound care, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Help patients with personal care needs, such as hygiene, dressing, and meals, promoting independence wherever possible.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control and clinic protocols.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of patient care activities and support the clinical team in maintaining patient documentation.
