Main duties: Act as the lead in your locality for CCS Safeguarding Children Responsibilities. Ensure risk management processes are followed that provides assurance that safeguarding arrangements, processes and practice are in line with Trust expectations and responsibilities. Take a lead role in the multi-disciplinary team and in multi-agency work. Ensure visibility and contribution to relevant multi agency forums. Provide direct involvement to partner agencies in complex safeguarding matters. Contribute to the development of any Safeguarding Children related documents that guide practice. Provide relevant reports as identified in the annual work programme and other Trust assurance programme including quarterly reporting for the ICBs as requested. Provide an active key role in the Local Safeguarding Children Partnership Boards (LSCPBs) and attend relevant meetings and work with operational teams to ensure collaborative approach is adopted to support this. Lead and monitor identified case reviews and action plans. Implement the safeguarding strategy and associated work programme Manage the safeguarding team and provide leadership to the team that supports their development and team building. Work with the Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Head of Safeguarding to ensure a consistent approach to the delivery of the safeguarding agenda. Provide expert and specialist knowledge advice and support on all aspects of safeguarding to Trust staff and other agencies as required to support compliance with CQC outcome 7 Safeguarding. Disseminate national and regional guidance/recommendations i.e., NICE etc., regarding Safeguarding People and interpret for local implementation. Act as an expert resource to support the day-to-day practice of the Trust staff. Provide advice on court related issues such as writing of witness statements, coroner inquest reports, care proceedings, custody arrangements or criminal statements regarding parental issues. Lead and monitor the implementation of an overall safeguarding work programme incorporating recommendations from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews, LeDeR and Safeguarding Adult Review Be responsible for overseeing and supporting the safeguarding training programme across the Trust, identifying improvements and updates relevant to new legislation and best practice Lead and ensure completion of related Safeguarding Clinical Audit programme. Ensure Trust staff are supported appropriately to undertake their safeguarding responsibilities i.e. embedding protocols and safeguarding practice standards. Provide expert level of challenge to Trust practitioners and partners in their safeguarding work
