Job description for Family Time Support Workers
We are looking for Family Support Workers to undertake supervising family time between parents and children who need to see each other in a safe environment, in our Family Time Centre. Some of the support can be carried out in the community.
A percentage of our work comes from Local Authority, Cafcass and some independent agencies.
Your duties and responsibilities will be to observe families, make sure there are no safeguarding issues, be able to identify any safeguarding risks and report these to the manager.
You will be required to observe and record observations in the form of a report. Reports are submitted to court and sent to Local Authority and any other professional involved with the families.
We always ensure the child/young person’s safety and well-being are paramount.
Follow health and safety procedures and policy and procedures.
You will be required to have a good understanding of English to write a factual report.
Full training will be given.
Qualifications and Experience:
(Essential = E / Desirable = D)
1. Hold the following qualifications or equivalent: CSE, GCSE, NVQ (D)
2. Experience of working with children/families (D)
Knowledge and Skills
1. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
2. Have some knowledge of the children’s act 1989.
3. Some knowledge of child development.
Personal qualities
1. Ability to work alone as part of a team.
2. Ability to work in accordance with the needs of the role.
3. Able to defuse challenging situations.
4. Must have a calm approach.
5.Driving licence and car preferred, with class1business insurance however not essential.
Hours wiill be given on and during the below Working days and times
Mon Tues Fri 9-6 must be avaliable for 4-6 shift
