Crynodeb
At Akings Lodge we provide compassionate, trauma-informed care and support to children and young people living in residential settings. The role focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment that promotes emotional well-being, stability, and personal development.
️ Key Responsibilities
• Build trusted relationships with children and young people, acting as a positive role model.
• Deliver day-to-day care including emotional support, personal care, and practical assistance.
• Implement therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches tailored to individual needs.
• Support children in developing life skills, independence, and resilience.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
• Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed at all times.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals.
• Participate in sleep-in duties, waking nights, and flexible shift patterns.
Skills & Experience
• Experience working with children or vulnerable groups (preferred).
• Understanding of trauma, attachment, and child development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (Preferred)
