Plan and prioritise their own workload and use their own initiative to solve problems with the support of the more senior staff Construct a wide range of orthodontic appliances and dental laboratory work Analyse treatment plans and technical prescriptions, redesigning treatment as and when circumstances dictate Order stock on the trust system Maintain accurate laboratory records Carry out under direction basic maintenance of laboratory equipment Have attained the knowledge and qualifications required to enable them to satisfy the requirements for registration by the General Dental Council (Degree or equivalent) Have experience within the field of dental technology Work in conjunction with the rest of the laboratory team to deliver a high quality technical service maintaining high standards at all times Assist with surveys & audits of the service as required Follow safe working procedures in order to minimise the risks to health and safety of all staff Participate in the implementation of laboratory policies and procedures Understand and seek to attain the shared objectives of the laboratory and the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust Have the responsibility of using expensive equipment safely Deal with technical queries from staff members and members of the public and assist where possible Work productively and effectively to ensure the delivery of technical services to patient appointment deadlines Communicating effectively and engaging with other healthcare staff Construction of highly technical medical devices Maintain professional registration and practice through continual personal development, CPD This job description is subject to the Terms and Conditions of service of Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust, and the post holder will undertake any other duties which may be required from time to time
