About this Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Catering Assistant to provide high quality meals from The Forest Academy to the Kendray Site, Barnsley. We encourage applicants with interest in nutrition and healthy meals. Previous catering experience is desirable and experience of working in education settings would be advantageous.

LOCATION:

Take Note: This role will show a location of Barnsley, on MyNewTerm as that is where our central team are based, but this role will be from The Forest Academy, serving the Kendray Site, Barnsley.

The successful applicant will be preparing food for lunchtime service in line with our daily menus. They will carry out all duties as expected in a catering department to ensure a high level of customer service. They will be undertaking high quality cleaning regimes and must adhere to procedures such as, health and safety, allergen control, food safety and stock control and rotation

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Catering Assistant to provide high quality meals to pupils from The Forest Academy to the Kendray Site, Barnsley.

Working 10 hours per week, 11am to 1pm, Monday to Friday.

This role is term time, plus two additional weeks for staff training - the additional days can be annualised or worked in school holidays/flexibly.

The successful applicant will be preparing food for lunchtime service in line with our daily menus. They will carry out all duties as expected in a catering department to ensure a high level of customer service. They will be undertaking high quality cleaning regimes and must adhere to procedures such as, health and safety, allergen control, food safety and stock control and rotation.

It would be desirable if they have Food Safety Level 2 training, or be willing to undertake the training required. Computer skills are also desirable.

We are committed to doing everything possible to ensure children get nutritious meals at school. The post holder will need an interest in nutrition and healthy meals. Previous catering experience is desirable and experience of working in education settings would be advantageous.
