We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Ab Initio Developer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL tools, data warehousing concepts, and strong SQL skills. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex ETL workflows and data integration solutions.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Design, develop, and implement end-to-end ETL solutions using Ab Initio components such as GDE, EME, Co>Operating System, and Conduct>It.
Analyze business and technical requirements to design robust data pipelines.
Develop, test, and deploy data transformation and loading jobs for large-scale data systems.
Optimize and troubleshoot Ab Initio graphs and ensure data accuracy and performance.
Perform impact analysis, performance tuning, and root cause analysis on ETL failures or data quality issues.
Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Maintain and enhance existing ETL jobs, processes, and documentation.
Ensure adherence to data governance and compliance policies.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
[3–8] years of experience in Ab Initio development.
Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data modeling.
Proficient in Ab Initio components including GDE, EME, Operating System, and Conduct
Strong SQL skills and experience working with databases like Oracle, Teradata, or SQL Server.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting.
Experience in performance tuning of ETL jobs and resolving complex data issues.
Good understanding of data quality, data lineage, and metadata management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native ETL tools (e.g., Glue, ADF).
Experience integrating Ab Initio with big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
Familiarity with data security, encryption, and compliance standards like GDPR or HIPAA.
Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).
