A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Solihull is looking for enthusiastic and academically strong graduates to join their team as Graduate STEM Teaching Assistants starting in September 2025.

The Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across a range of STEM disciplines — including Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, and Engineering. Working alongside experienced teachers, you’ll help deliver high-quality lessons and provide academic support tailored to individual students’ needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted one-to-one and small group academic interventions


  • Support teachers with lesson planning and resource development


  • Assist students preparing for GCSEs and A-Levels


  • Encourage engagement through creative and inclusive teaching approaches


  • Gain experience with a range of learning styles and educational needs


    Who We’re Looking For

    We’re keen to hear from graduates who:

    • Hold (or are on track to achieve) a 2:1 or above in a STEM subject (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Computer Science)


    • Are confident communicators, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly


    • Are enthusiastic, dependable, and committed to student progress


    • Bring strong organisational and interpersonal skills


    • Ideally have prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, summer schools)


    • Are considering a future career in teaching, education, or academic research
