Role Overview:
The Motor Transport Operations Manager is responsible for managing the outputs of the Motor Transport (MT) Pool and overseeing the team of drivers who deliver essential transport services. This role ensures the effective delivery of MT services, compliance with regulations, and the implementation of safe working practices to support the operational needs of RNAS Culdrose.
Specific Responsibilities:
Planning Tasks and Arranging Passenger and Freight Requests:
Coordinate and plan transport tasks, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of passenger and freight services to meet operational requirements.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transport requests are fulfilled effectively.
Reporting Line Management Duties
Compliance Checks:
Ensure all MT operations comply with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including those related to driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and operational standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high levels of compliance and operational efficiency.
Health and Safety Officer:
Act as the Health and Safety Officer for the MT Section, implementing safe working practices in line with relevant risk assessments and regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a safe working environment.
Promote a culture of safety awareness within the team, providing guidance and training as required.
Manage the AinU (Authorised in Use):
Maintain and manage the permanent loan record for Naval Stores, ensuring all equipment and resources required to support the MT Section are accounted for and managed effectively.
Line Manager Responsibilities
Other Tasks as Directed by Management:
Undertake additional duties as required by management to support the operational needs of the MT Section and the wider Logistics Department.
