Job Description
SENIOR MANGEMENT TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
1. LEADERSHIP
1. As part of the Senior Management Team, leading by example, specifically
demonstrating the organisation’s values & standards, promoting excellence in all
aspects of the business, and encouraging openness, challenge and learning.

2. STRATEGIC
1. Leading on the delivery of HR Management across the organisation.
2. Leading on the promotion of Staff/Volunteer wellbeing across the organisation.
3. Contributing to driving EDI & Environmental performance across the organisation.
4. Contributing to the development of the theatre’s wider Business Plans & Budgets.
5. Maintaining a detailed knowledge of Employment legislation.
ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
3. HR & WELLBEING
1. Lead responsibility for recruitment processes, including:
o Contributing to drafting job descriptions
o Contributing to drafting job adverts
o Supporting shortlisting
o Supporting interviewing
o Undertaking DBS & any other safer-recruitment checks
2. Lead responsibility for induction & probation processes.
3. Lead responsibility for drafting/issuing appropriate contracts for staff.
4. Supporting the drafting of appropriate contracts for freelancers.
5. Overseeing the effective EO monitoring of all staff/volunteer/freelancer recruitment.
6. Overseeing the effective delivery of PDR and other performance management processes.
7. Overseeing the development/delivery of an organisational training plan.
8. Developing/delivering training where appropriate.
9. Overseeing the management of grievance & disciplinary processes.
10. Liaising with Croner HR to ensure all HR activities are legally compliant/insured.
11. Lead responsibility for reviewing/revising HR policies and Staff Handbook.
12. Lead responsibility for ensuring staff are kept up to date with policy/Handbook changes.
13. Lead responsibility for annual Staff/Volunteer Survey and associated reporting/actions.
14. Lead responsibility for quarterly Staff/Volunteer Newsletter.
15. Lead responsibility for scheduling all-staff meetings.
16. Lead responsibility for scheduling staff/volunteer social events.
17. Primary point of contact for Health Assured & other wellbeing resource providers.
18. Ensuring effective & GDPR-compliant HR record keeping.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
4. REPORTING & COMPLIANCE
1. Producing HR & Wellbeing reports for Executive & Trustees as required.
2. Attending the Board’s People & Culture Committee meetings as required.
5. MANAGEMENT
1. Playing an active role within the Senior Management Team.
2. Contributing to staff meetings and working groups as required.
3. Representing the theatre at external meetings/events as required.
4. Supervising the HR & Wellbeing-related work of the Programme & HR Administrator.
5. Acting as a Duty Manager as required.
6. GENERAL
1. Attending staff meetings/training as required.
2. Providing staff/volunteer mentoring/training as required.
3. Maintaining a working knowledge of the theatre’s programme.
4. Adhering to all Lichfield Garrick Theatre policies & procedures.
5. Contributing to effective Health & Safety management across the organisation.
6. Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
