Thu, 4 Sept 2025Skipton Business Finance are seeking an experienced and dynamic PR, Communications & Events Manager to lead and execute our external communications strategy, content creation, and brand representation across national events and media. This is a pivotal role that blends storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and event coordination.
Working closely with the wider marketing team and Sales Directors, you’ll manage SBF’s communications calendar, shape our thought leadership narrative, and ensure that our presence at major industry events like the NACFB Commercial Expo delivers commercial value and brand impact.

What you will be doing
Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Office (CMO), you will:
Develop and manage a strategic comms calendar aligned with business objectives and campaign activity.
Create and adapt content for multiple channels — website news/blogs, LinkedIn posts, email comms, and PR/media including compelling press releases, award submissions, and editorial pieces in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Manage and liaise with PR agencies (as appropriate) to secure media coverage, speaking opportunities, and build brand reputation.
Monitor media coverage, produce reports, and optimise PR strategy accordingly.
Own and execute email marketing content within HubSpot, coordinating with the Head of Demand Generation.
Create reusable content frameworks that support multi-channel amplification.
Collaborate with external designer to ensure message consistency and brand alignment across platforms.
Plan and manage the company’s participation at key industry events (e.g., NACFB Expo, broker network events and roadshows).
Support Sales Directors with event logistics, branded collateral, promotional items, and briefing materials.
Manage third-party suppliers including PR agencies, designers, printers, and AV firms.
Develop and maintain detailed budgets, project timelines, and KPIs.
What do we need from you
To be successful in this role you’ll need to be or have:
Demonstrable experience in a PR, communications, or events role - preferably in B2B financial services organisation.
Excellent copywriting and content development skills.
Hands-on experience with HubSpot for content/email management.
Hands-on experience with LinkedIn for posting, post amplification and campaign management etc.
Confident managing national event logistics, from brief through execution.
Proven experience managing external PR agencies and delivering ROI-driven PR activity.
Strong budgeting and project management capabilities, with attention to detail.
High emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal and stakeholder skills.
