Job Summary Are you passionate about using data to drive meaningful change and inform impactful decisions? Do you want to be part of a dynamic team where data underpins service improvement and innovation? The Community Hospice is seeking a motivated and analytical individual to join our clinical data team as a Data Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for a degree holder or equivalent to develop hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. In this role, you will support the hospices commitment to data-informed decision-making by ensuring data accuracy, identifying trends, and generating insights that contribute to the enhancement of patient care and operational processes. You will be part of a collaborative environment where your contributions help shape the way we deliver our services. This offers a structured pathway for professional growth, with the potential for a full-time, permanent position upon successful completion. If you are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to build a career in data analytics within a values-driven organisation, we would love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Collect, cleanse, and maintain accurate and reliable datasets to support operational and strategic needs. Make updates and amendments to the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, SystmOne. Manage the Vantage incident reporting system for the hospice, ensuring data integrity and timely updates. Provide first-line support for the Vantage system, addressing queries and troubleshooting basic issues. Monitor and update incident records on Vantage, assess breach severity, and ensure appropriate documentation. Produce incident management data and reports to support internal hospice governance and oversight. Support the preparation and delivery of regular and ad hoc reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Use data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau to present insights in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Contribute to the development and automation of data processes to improve efficiency and data quality. Provide first-line support for SystmOne, including basic troubleshooting and user assistance. Collate and submit accurate data and reports in a timely manner to external stakeholders, including NHS England, Hospice UK, and other relevant organisations. Ensure adherence to data governance standards, confidentiality policies, and GDPR regulations. Liaise with hospice staff and external partners to gather data and information for service evaluation and improvement. Deliver data protection and system security briefings to new staff and users of key systems. Work collaboratively with teams across the hospice to understand data requirements and support decision-making. Support the onboarding process for new starters by facilitating SystmOne access and related guidance. Engage in relevant training, mentoring sessions, and professional development opportunities. Conduct audits and surveys related to data management and service performance as required. Develop in-depth knowledge of hospice data systems, services, and reporting requirements. Providing targeted, ad hoc user support and informal system training to enhance digital competency across various platforms. Provide support to the Product Owner and Data Protection Officer in relation to data governance and system functionality, as required. Additional Information This role offers valuable on-the-job learning opportunities, complemented by structured training through the apprenticeship programme, typically requiring one dedicated study day per week. Please note that the responsibilities outlined are not exhaustive and may be reviewed and adjusted in line with the evolving needs of the role and the organisation.
