Summary
We are looking for a Scrutiny Officer to join our team. Scrutiny Officers play a key role supporting our Councillors in ensuring the Council is transparent, accountable and responsive to the needs of the community.
You will have knowledge and preferably experience of how the Council operates including the democratic and political processes and be able to work collaboratively across the Council and with its partners to be able to engage staff, customers and stakeholders to provide a professional democratic support service.
You will have a good understanding of research and project management/delivery methods, including risk management and be committed to continuous service improvement. You must be able to provide clear and impartial advice in a political environment.
You must be able to remain calm, diplomatic, and approachable in stressful and pressurised situations whilst still providing an effective service.
The ability to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the service is essential.
