We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
Working as part of a team, the Revenues Officer will work within the legislation and broad framework of council policy using discretion and initiative across a range of accounting activities, particularly in contributing and assisting in the most appropriate action required to ensure the provision of a quality service to customers.
The Revenues Officer will aim to maximise income to the council through a range of administrative and accounting procedures, including visits, in relation to the billing, administration and collection of local taxes. This will involve considerable liaison with a number of outside agencies and members of the public.
The Revenues Officer will prioritise their own workload on a daily basis and reporting to a Senior Section Leader will be expected to work on an unsupervised basis assessing cases and situations and, based on their knowledge and experience, act accordingly.
