We’re recruiting an enthusiastic apprentice to join our People & Operations team, supporting both the People & Culture and Operations functions at Suffolk Wildlife Trust. This is a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship, offering the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience while contributing to our mission to bring nature back to Suffolk.
As the People & Operations Apprentice, you will support the People & Culture and Operations teams. From the outset, you’ll assist with volunteer enquiries, help maintain our volunteer management system (Team Kinetic), support volunteer safer recruitment processes and assist volunteer managers, staff events and meetings. No two days will be the same!
Through the Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship (provided by Suffolk New College,) you’ll develop skills and knowledge and as you become more confident in the role you take on greater responsibility. Over time, you’ll move from assisting with tasks to coordinating and leading on areas such as volunteer coordination, training records, maintaining records and systems and supporting recognition activities like awards, events and thank-you events. This varied role will give you hands-on experience in people support functions, operational processes and organisational culture, while contributing to our shared mission of bringing nature back to Suffolk.
We are looking for someone motivated, organised and eager to learn and with good communication and IT skills. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience, work within a supportive culture that encourages learning and innovation, and be part of a passionate team making a real difference for people and nature.
This is a full-time Apprenticeship role expected to last between 18 and 24 months. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The role will be based at our Head Office Brooke House in Ashbocking.
The starting salary for this apprenticeship is £14,722.50 per annum plus a £1,000 Apprenticeship Allowance to help with resources and traveling to work and college. The salary will be reviewed in the second year of the apprenticeship.
Please note, the entry onto the Apprenticeship is subject to 4 GCSEs including Maths and English 9-4/A-C or Functional Skills Level 2.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust is committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone is welcome. As a conservation charity, we recognise the importance of diversity in both nature and our workforce of staff and volunteers. We strive to ensure that everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute to our vision of “A Wilder Suffolk where nature is thriving and abundant because everyone is doing more to help”.
