Key Result Areas & Performance: Provide senior leadership to LGTs Urgent and Emergency Care improvement portfolio, developing a coherent programme management structure which is understood and embedded across the organisation and evolves to meet new demands or national expectations. Be the Programme Director for the delivery of strategic programmes in relation to UEC improvement, ensuring delivery of workstream success and continued progression of required programmes and business cases through Trust governance cycles to ensure delivery of short and medium-term Trust strategy. Drive workstream leads to achieve project objectives within agreed and specific timescales, liaising with staff of all levels and professions to achieve this. Proactively drive improvement and next steps through personal experience, knowledge of current best practice, robust governance and visible leadership in holding teams and indivuiduals accountable for their actions and commitments Hold leadership teams to account for delivery of their objectives through regular review meetings, including across areas without direct line management responsibility. Provide appropriate input and challenge to plans where necessary. Effectively and proactively lead a portfolio of concurrent, complex projects, with a range of interdependencies and stakeholders. Be responsible for all required drafting of communication materials, reports and presentation materials, including Board level submissions on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer / Deputy Chief Operating Officer, and wider executive team. Maintain high standards in documentation and production of presentation materials (presentations, meeting briefing materials). Ensure quality, patient safety, productivity and efficiency, best practice and performance are at the heart of improvement and that operational and clinical teams are engaged in this. Work in partnership with clinical leads to inspire change, building a community of clinical change champions who learn from each other and share good practice through the development of clinical reference groups and other forums. Link closely with the GIRFT team to incorporate best practice and relevant standards. Lead and support the convening of conversations with clinicians and external partners (including primary care) to drive quality and innovation in pathways of care. Lead and support the convening of conversations with patients to embed meaningful patient involvement in the development of improved experiences of and access to care. Matrix manage aligned improvement project, programme and analytical resource from corporate teams who are responsible for project and programme delivery. Participate in shared appraisals as relevant to develop and support these staff. Able to maintain a high level of performance when faced with competing priorities, assessing the importance and urgency of situations and initiate action, where appropriate. Provide credible leadership to senior directorate staff (both with and without line management responsibility) ensuring clear communication of programme vision, priorities and expectations to engage teams in delivering services of the highest quality and supporting LGT to be exceptional. Develop relationships and influence to ensure ownership of continuous improvement and programme delivery is achieved and that supportive and sustainable performance management frameworks are put in place. Challenge the status quo, drive change and build strong and credible relationships across multi-discipljnary teams. Manage the complex nature of the portfolio, working with divisional teams to ensure that plans align with the Trusts overarching vision and strategy and support clinical and operational teams to identify new opportunities and ways to respond to challenges. Contribute to the design and delivery of relevant IT and business intelligence systems and products relating to the portfolio, including contribution to changes to the Trusts Electronic Patient Record and other enabling systems as required.
