An exciting opportunity is available for a Graduate Paramedic to join the Paramedic Teaching Team at Staffordshire University on a fixed-term contract of 12 months.
The successful candidate will work alongside our experienced academic team to support the development and delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students. During this period, the graduate will also gain valuable experience in learning, teaching and assessment, providing a strong foundation for a future career in education.
At the School of Health, Education, Policing & Sciences at Staffordshire University we have an exciting portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a strong history of paramedic education. We are keen to recruit excellent lecturing staff to support our paramedic provision. You will be joining a well-established team with a wealth of experience both clinically and academically. The school is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and a great place to develop a distinctive academic portfolio.
In addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning you will have the opportunity to develop your own academic skillset, and contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise goals. Within this community you will have the opportunity to grow academically while working with a team of dedicated professionals. You will get the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals who will support and encourage your career development. As a member of academic staff you will have the opportunity to work at our Centre for Health Innovation in Stafford in one of the UK’s foremost simulation and ‘simmersive’ teaching and learning environments.
This post is for a fixed-term 12-month period.
Additional Desirable skills:
• Experience of working in primary care or advanced clinical practice.
• Teaching in a Higher Education setting
• Experience of research and writing for publication.
The school is committed to building a diverse community. We are encouraging talented people join our academic team. All appointments are made on merit, on the bases of the interview and applications. We particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified ethnic minority academics, as they are currently under-represented in positions within the department.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Gavin Johnson (Course Director) on Gavin.Johnson@staffs.ac.uk
