Are you an experienced teaching assistant looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Our client, a dedicated SEMH specialist school in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, is seeking a skilled and empathetic teaching assistant to join their supportive team.

In this full-time role, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH needs. You will assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons, provide one-to-one support when needed, and help students develop essential social and emotional skills.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs and be committed to helping them overcome barriers to learning. You will be patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key responsibilities:
- Supporting teachers in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons
- Providing individualised support to students with SEMH needs
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop social and emotional skills
- Monitoring student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents
- Collaborating with the SEMH team to develop and implement effective support strategies

To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a similar setting
- A relevant teaching assistant qualification (e.g. , Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm and patient approach to working with students who may display challenging behaviours
- A commitment to ongoing professional development

Our client offers a competitive salary of £24,570 - £25,935 per annum, along with opportunities for professional growth and development within a supportive and inclusive school community.
