A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Paediatric Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation (10PA) at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). The post will contribute to both Paediatric Haematology (5PAs) and Paediatric Allogeneic BMT (5PAs) services.
The successful applicant will join the established team of four Paediatric Haematologists and five WTE Paediatric Oncologists, in providing paediatric haematology tertiary service to children in the East of England Region. They will have specific responsibilities for providing both clinical and laboratory support for the malignant and non-malignant Paediatric Haematology Service.
The post holders will also work in the newly established paediatric allogeneic BMT service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a recently developed paediatric allogeneic BMT service, building on the established autograft service, with joint JACIE accreditation with the adult/TYA allogeneic BMT unit.
You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have CCT or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
There are strong academic links with cancer research in Cambridge, through the Biomedical Research Centre, MRC and CRUK, as well as through academic departments within the university.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. For further information please visit the UK Visas and Immigration website.
It is a requirement for skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, to present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement.
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
Please refer to the Job description and Person specification attached for further details on the main responsibilities and duties for this post.
