Purpose of the Role

The Communications and Publications Minister will serve as part of the ministerial team at Lifegate Outreach Centre, supporting the spiritual and charitable mission of “Imparting Abundant Life.”

This role combines ministerial duties (leading worship, preaching, teaching, and participating in daily prayer and Bible study) with communications and publishing responsibilities. This includes overseeing the production of Christian books, devotionals, discipleship resources, newsletters, and digital content that advance the church’s vision.

The postholder will ensure that the Gospel message and Lifegate’s values of Purity, Power, Purpose, and Prosperity are communicated clearly to the congregation, wider community, and partner organisations. The role also involves developing digital platforms, strengthening media presence, and amplifying outreach initiatives to support evangelism, discipleship, and charitable impact.

Ministerial Duties

• Participate actively in daily prayer meetings, weekly Bible studies, and Sunday services.
• Preach, teach, and lead devotional sessions under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
• Provide pastoral encouragement through written, spoken, and digital ministry.

• Assist in leading worship, prayer, and intercessory ministry as required.

Faith-Based Publications

• Lead the editorial process for the publication of Christian books, devotionals, teaching manuals, and discipleship resources.
• Oversee the production of newsletters, bulletins, and ministry reports that share testimonies, teachings, and outreach updates.
• Ensure all written material reflects biblical values and Lifegate’s mission.

Strategic Communications

• Develop and implement an annual communications and publications plan aligned with the Centre’s spiritual and outreach objectives.
• Work with the Senior Pastor, ministry leaders, and LifeTeams to shape and deliver key messages that strengthen Lifegate’s visibility and impact.
• Ensure consistent and faith-aligned communication across all programmes, events, and ministries.

Digital and Media Ministry

• Manage the church’s website, livestreams, and digital platforms, ensuring they are current, engaging, and accessible.
• Oversee social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) with content that spreads the Gospel and encourages community engagement.
• Create and distribute multimedia resources (videos, podcasts, testimonies, infographics, devotionals).

Public and Community Relations

• Build and maintain positive relationships with local and national media, Christian publishers, and community stakeholders.
• Draft and issue press releases for ministry events, book launches, and community initiatives.
• Represent Lifegate in external communications that enhance its reputation as a faith-based charity.

Internal Support

• Provide communications support to ministry teams and volunteers to publicise events, conferences, and outreach programmes.
• Develop communication toolkits, templates, and training to enable wider staff and volunteer contributions.
• Support leadership in preparing reports, presentations, and publications for governance and external partners.

Other Duties

Carry out any other ministry-related tasks reasonably requested by the Senior Pastor/Outreach Director.
