You will focus on international relationships and communications. On international, you will deliver the DEW international strategy, identifying key partners who offer technical, market, capability, or knowledge benefits to the UK, and building and maintaining relationships with them. On communications you will own the DEW communications strategy, identifying key points to champion and promote DEW, and work closely An excellent candidate will be a confident and clear communicator, have proven ability in building strategic relationships, and be a proactive member of the team who can identify and take ownership of key workstreams, demonstrating their leadership potential.
The policy branch of the team focuses on international partnerships, developing policies for DEW use, and exploring interventions to make the UK the best place to research, develop, and deliver DEW capabilities, from building skills via PhD programmes to identifying infrastructure investments such as testing facilities.
As the C1 DEW International and Communications Officer, you will do the following (subject to change based on business need):
Lead on DEW communications, working with B2 policy to set the strategy, and then creating communications, working with teams across MOD and its partners.
Lead on DEW international relationships, working with B2 policy to set the strategy, and then managing key relationships. This will include specific areas of DEW policy, including hosting workshops, drafting proposals and building relationships with teams across MOD and government.
Engagement lead with key UK stakeholders, interfacing with key partners in DE&S, Dstl, and Industry, to align international and communication efforts towards joint objectives.
The DEW team works closely with delivery partners in DE&S, Dstl, and industry, and there will be occasional need to travel (costs covered by team).
