Summary
Groupon is a marketplace where customers discover new experiences and services everyday and local businesses thrive. To date we have worked with over a million merchant partners worldwide, connecting over 16 million customers with deals across various categories. In a world often dominated by e-commerce giants, we stand out as one of the few platforms uniquely committed to helping local businesses succeed on a performance basis.
Groupon is on a radical journey to transform our business with relentless pursuit of results. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success. The impact here can be immediate due to our scale and the speed of our transformation. We're a "best of both worlds" kind of company. We're big enough to have the resources and scale, but small enough that a single person has a surprising amount of autonomy and can make a meaningful impact.
The role
Groupon’s Tax team overall is responsible for worldwide tax compliance, provision calculations and planning for the group. As an International Tax Analyst, you will be an integral part of the global tax team, working on direct tax matters, reporting to the International Tax Manager in London. You will support day-to-day delivery across transfer pricing and UK corporation tax, with exposure to broader international direct tax matters and cross functional projects.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, improving processes, partnering with Finance and external advisers, and taking ownership of clear, reviewable deliverables that support the business.
You’ll spend time on the following:
Transfer Pricing and Intercompany Support
- Support the outsourced transfer pricing compliance cycle (Master file, Local files, etc.), including coordinating data requests and managing deliverables.
- Maintain and improve documentation and operational support for the transfer pricing model, ensuring consistency between policy, legal agreements, and financial results.
- Assist with the transfer pricing aspects of new and existing intercompany transactions, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
UK Corporation Tax
- Support the outsourced UK corporation tax compliance process by coordinating inputs, preparing analyses and managing milestones with external advisers and internal teams.
- Assist with preparing schedules to support the UK tax computation, including identifying risks and unusual items.
International Tax Controversy & Advisory
- Support international tax authority queries and information requests by coordinating data gathering and drafting response materials.
- Assist with international direct tax advisory workstreams, including assessing legislative changes (e.g., BEPS 2.0).
- Contribute to tax analysis for group reorganisations, restructurings, and business initiatives by assembling facts and preparing summary materials.
Process & Stakeholder Management
- Build effective working relationships across Tax, Finance, Legal, and the wider business to ensure tax considerations are incorporated early.
- Maintain clear audit trails, trackers, and documentation to support efficient processes and strong internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including standardised workpapers, automation opportunities and data quality enhancements.
We’re excited about you if you have
- 2-5 years of relevant experience with multinational groups in house or in practice, with exposure to transfer pricing and/or UK corporation tax.
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with financial data, reconciliations and large datasets, with strong Excel skills.
- Experience coordinating advisers and stakeholders across multiple workstreams, with clear communication and follow through.
- An ability to take ownership of assigned tasks with limited supervision, escalating issues early and proposing solutions.
- A practical understanding of UK corporate income tax and/or transfer pricing concepts and documentation requirements, with a willingness to develop deeper technical expertise.
- ACA, ACCA, CTA (qualified or part qualified), or qualified by experience.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred
- Experience supporting OECD aligned TP documentation (Master file and Local files), and cross border compliance coordination.
- Exposure to international tax projects such as BEPS related initiatives, Pillar Two readiness, or withholding tax processes.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and or IFRS is beneficial.
This is a hybrid role based on two mandatory days in the office per week.
