As a Court Manager for CPS North West, you play a vital role within the Crown Prosecution Service by overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of Crown Court casework. You ensure that cases are prepared and managed efficiently, in accordance with CPS policies.
This role ensures deployment of paralegal officers and assistants to court duties is in line with the national agreement. You manage the paralegal cadre to ensure case quality and victim, and witness care are maintained and improved.
The role includes line management responsibilities for Paralegal Assistants, contributing to induction processes, and mentoring/developing new or less experienced staff. You liaise with key stakeholders such as the judiciary, barristers, defence solicitors and Police.
The Crown Court Manager monitors case progression, identifies issues that may delay proceedings, and implements solutions to meet performance targets and deliver justice effectively.
The Crown Prosecution Service is based in England and Wales. You must be aged 18 before starting in this role. The start date is expected to be 8-12 weeks after the application deadline.
As part of this role, you are expected to undertake direct line management responsibilities.
