Summary

The successful candidate will work closely with Cellular Pathology management team and the Consultant Pathologists to deliver a quality-driven, safe, cost effective, timely, responsive and customer focused Cellular Pathology service.

This Senior Biomedical Scientist post offers an exciting opportunity for BMS’s to further develop their specialist knowledge and skills in Diagnostic Cytology and Histopathology as we are an IBMS registered training facility committed to education, training and clinical excellence.

You will be required to attend Rapid on-site assessment clinics across the Trust hospitals and will need to have experience in cytology preparation and sample assessment.

You will also be responsible for supervising the Cellular Pathology area and assist in the development of staff within a progressive department where participation in developing our service is actively encouraged.

You should be HCPC registered with an appropriate MSc, IBMS HSD and/or be FIBMS and be well versed in the workings of a Cellular Pathology laboratory and in particular be able to demonstrate experience in Diagnostic Cytology both sample preparation and assessment.

You will also need to be enthusiastic, communicate well with all levels of staff and patients. Be highly motivated, computer literate and familiar with working to UKAS standards.
